The right-wing attack dog, Jerome Corsi, has just published the sequel to his scurrilous swift boat book that helped undo the candidacy of the John Kerry. Just in time for the election, he has produced "Obama Nation," a book so nasty and so full of factual errors it would be laughable if it weren't so despicable. But the truth was never the goal of the swift-boaters. They're interested in one thing only, and that's defeating the Democratic candidate, by any means possible, no matter how debased. Obama had to expect this, of course, given the recent history of campaigns. I just hope that he's truly prepared for how ugly this will get. There will be subtle and not so subtle racism, attacks on his patriotism, his intelligence, his judgement, his sensibilities, his toughness, his character, his taste, his wife, his friends, his dog and anyone and anything his opponents can think of, no matter how far afield. The attacks will be unrelenting until November. Hunker down, folks. It's getting ugly.
