More on Google indexing

Readers of this blog will know that I've been contacted by others who have had problems with Google not finding their Web sites. Here's an update from one of those people.

Subject: Google Indexing

Mr. John Temple:

On the subject of Google's search engines finding and indexing my sites, I have an important update.

Doing a little research, I found that my two sites were not suitable for indexing by Google. The problem was I was using "frames" in my web site design. A problem for robots I am told. So, I changed both of my sites to eliminate the frames design, got navigation links on all pages (back and forth), added better titles, descriptions and keywords for pages, and within 10 days I was seeing results with Google. I also submitted my genealogy site to Cyndi's List. She provides links to appropriate genealogy sites. That may have helped the Elliott site. It may be important to Google to find a link to your site from some other site.

Soon my site ( http://corespubs.com ) had 5 pages indexed, the next day 6 pages. I have since added several pages and no results have been seen yet.

My site ( http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~elliottsofnewengland ) cannot be checked with the "site:" in the same way, but I am seeing indications that at least some indexing is taking place and the url is in their directory.

So, I would say that if indexing is not taking place on a site, look to the site design. You can find out what pages they have indexed by keying into the search window the following: site: . Example: site:www.corespubs.com . It doesn't seem to work for my Elliott site.

Here we go again! I hoped with Ref. C and D being voted on we would see the end of Jon Caldara and his extreme right opinion. But no! The Rocky comes up with yet another story about this windbag and his right agenda. He is either on the Rocky payroll as a columnist or the Denver Newspaper Agency payroll with instructions for you to print his verbage.

So if you must give this right winger valuable newspaper space could you put him on the editorial pages?

He and his Republican Right agenda is no longer news!
